The short version

Plov Index sets one strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in. We load Google Analytics only if you consent on the cookie banner, and we set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. This page sits alongside our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Some are essential for the site to function; others are optional and only run with your consent. We group ours into strictly-necessary and optional analytics, plus a functional security token on our forms.

Cookies we set

CookieTypePurposeExpiry
Session / auth cookieFirst-party (strictly necessary)Keeps you signed in and secures your session. Required for the app to work — it can't be turned off.Expires when your session ends
_ga, _ga_*Third-party (Google Analytics)Counts visitors and which pages they read, so we can improve the product. Loaded only after you consent on the cookie banner. We never sell or share this data.Up to 2 years (Google default)
Bot-protection tokenThird-party (bot-protection provider)A functional token set on forms to protect against bots and abuse. Not used for tracking or advertising.Short-lived, per form submission

Strictly-necessary cookie

Our session and authentication cookie is required to sign you in and keep your session secure. Without it, the app can't tell who you are, so it can't be switched off while you use Plov Index.

Optional analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the product is used, but only after you accept analytics on the cookie banner. If you decline, Google Analytics never loads. You can change your choice at any time — clear the site's storage in your browser settings, and the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can re-decide.

Bot protection

Some of our forms use a third-party bot-protection service to keep bots and abuse out. It may set a short-lived functional token to verify a submission is genuine. It isn't used for tracking or advertising.

No advertising cookies

We don't set advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data.

How to control cookies

Use the cookie banner to accept or decline optional analytics, and to change that choice later. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings — note that blocking the strictly- necessary session cookie will sign you out and stop you signing back in.
